Thoughts About Obama’s Second Day On The Job

So day two, not even on the job yet, and what happens?

The DOW drops again, almost as much as it did yesterday. It’s also worth noting that this has ushered in the largest stock sell off after a presidential election in the history of the stock market. This is not just investors and mutual fund companies selling stock folks… this means that businesses are starting to selling stock.

What does this mean? Well, looks like business America doesn’t have faith in its ability to pay all the promised tax increases that await them, and their trying to get what ever profit they have left out while they still can. If/When this socialistic tax system comes into full swing and these companies not only loose their tax breaks, but get their taxes increased… they are going to start costs. That means cutting research, development, and most importantly… jobs. This is most likely why Reuters said yesterday that we’re potentially looking at massive layoffs during 2009.

Looks like an international crisis (you know… the crisis’s that Presidential Elect Obama promised us) is starting to take shape. Russia ordered missile stations to be placed at the borders of some of our NATO allies. Cuban Missile Crisis? Anyone remember that? From the source:

President Medvedev ordered missiles to be stationed up against Nato’s borders yesterday to counter American plans to build a missile defence shield.

Speaking within hours of Barack Obama’s election, Mr Medvedev announced that Russia would base Iskander missiles in its Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad – the former German city – next to the border with Poland.

He did not say whether the short-range missiles would carry nuclear warheads.

Taking advantage of the world’s attention on the US elections, Mr Medvedev also canceled plans to withdraw three intercontinental ballistic missile regiments from western Russia by 2010.

Final thought… the news is just now (after he’s been elected) starting to voice real concerns over a President Obama. Well jumping Jimmy Cricket on a pogo stick! If you guys maybe asked him a tough question or two maybe we wouldn’t be staring down a messy four years. Here is the transcript of a conversation between Charlie Rose and Tom Brokaw discussing how they don’t know about his foreign policy, or where he draws his inspiration from. Two issue you think would have come up before the election.

ROSE: I don’t know what Barack Obama’s worldview is.

BROKAW: No, I don’t, either.

ROSE: I don’t know how he really sees where China is.

BROKAW: We don’t know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.

ROSE: I don’t really know. And do we know anything about the people who are advising him?

BROKAW: Yeah, it’s an interesting question.

ROSE: He is principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational (sic) speeches.

BROKAW: Two of them! I don’t know what books he’s read.

ROSE: What do we know about the heroes of Barack Obama?

BROKAW: There’s a lot about him we don’t know.

America Voted for a whole lot of change two days ago… and I really think she’s going to see it.

For the Conservative Underground, here is your motivation for the day:

Thoughts About Obama’s First Day On The Job

Hmmm. Interesting. His first day on the job, not only does the DOW drop nearly 500 points and the NASDAQ nearly 100, but the head smart dudes over at Reuters are predicting a massive level of layoffs for just about every industry in 2009. What does this mean? Well, it means that while Americans put their faith in Obama’s wealth redistribution strategy, the business community (you know… those people that employ all of us) does not share this optimism.

True this is just day one, things could look up… but history tells me that if Obama does everything he said he is going to do, it won’t. Now is the time to really get secure in your job, grow a little bit, maybe learn a new skill and make yourself your more marketable… I am VERY happy to be a government employee right now.

On an unrelated note, what has become of all the Obama campaign supporters after the storm? This video will let you know…

Thoughts about election day, and what really got me mad.

So the election didn’t go the way I was hoping it would go. Rats. For the first time in 30 years (in my lifetime) the vast majority of the government is Democratic. I thought two things watching the election coverage last night.

Number 1. I’m now counting myself a part of the “conservative underground”. I’ve stated before that this was the first election that I’ve taken part in where I voted for Republican’s across the board. I can see now that my political calling needs more than just my vote. Last night America voted for a whole lot of change… but some things can’t be touched. The Constitution, our Bill of Rights, the definition of marriage, the traditional family, the sanctity of life, the right to property can never change. I’m going to be doing a lot of letter writing.

Number 2. I honestly hope I’m wrong about the Democrats in this election. All I’ve had to go on is what they have been saying, so I don’t have a whole lot of hope for this, but time will tell. And this time, if things fall apart, the Dem (holding the majority) have nobody to blame but themselves. No Bush bashing to talk yourself out of stupid mistakes this time around.

Now, for what got me really mad.

Checking Facebook profiles and status updates to get an impression of the events last night, I came across a statement made that upset me more than the election results. (The name as been changed to protect the ungrateful sack of lard.)

‘Mr. ButtHead’ is proud to be an American again… FINALLY!

I’ve got a piece of news for you Mr. Butthead. You’re really part of the bigger problem. I have not once in my life been not proud to be an American. Even when my guy didn’t win the election… this morning I am still proud to be an American. I am proud of the fundamentals that this nation was founded on. Fundamental ideas that have seen America grow (in less than 250 years mind you) into the wealthiest, strongest, most influential nation in the world.

Yes we’ve made mistakes along the way, yes we have down right dropped the ball on more than few occasions, but name one other nation that hasn’t? Do me, and the other true American’s a favor… if you insist on being a fair weather American… leave.

On that note. Congratulations to Presidential Elect Obama. Please…. prove me wrong.

Why I’m voting Democrat

I’m voting Democrat because like most Americans I trust lawyers more than anyone else; I think only lawyers should run the government, and all the Democrat Leaders are lawyers: Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, John Edwards, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Leader Harry Reid, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry, to name just a few. (Al Gore dropped out of Law School, so I don’t trust him as much, except on Global Warming.)

I’m voting Democrat because the Democrats support the trial lawyers and I think this country needs more lawsuits and less tort reform. And I don’t believe the trial lawyers’ contributions have a thing to do with it.

I’m voting Democrat because Congress has done such a wonderful job under Democrat leadership the last two years, that I want a lot more of the same.

I’m voting Democrat because I want to get my health care from the same competent, efficient, cost-effective, customer-service-focused folks who run the US Post Office, the Pentagon, FEMA and the state Registry of Motor Vehicles.

I’m voting Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

I’m voting Democrat because Sen. Obama has promised to cut the taxes of 95% of the people, including the 30% who don’t pay taxes.

I’m voting Democrat because Sen. Obama has promised to take away the secret ballot in union elections, and I think the union bosses should know if a workingman or woman is with them, or against them.

I’m voting Democrat because Sen. Obama has over three years experience in the Federal Government, and “Hope” is a great strategy.

I’m voting Democrat because Sen. Obama voted “present” instead of “yes” or “no” over 120 times in the Illinois State Senate, and I think we need a decisive president.

I’m voting Democrat because I think that drilling for American oil is foolish, when we can buy oil from the Middle East.

I’m voting Democrat because I think windmills (except off Hyannis) are a better answer to reliable, clean energy than Nuclear Energy.

I’m voting Democrat because I don’t think we give enough to other countries in foreign aid.

I’m voting Democrat because I’m for putting up barriers to free trade, as they did in 1930 with the Smoot-Hawley bill. That made things much better then.

I’m voting Democrat because I miss the high unemployment, inflation and interest rates of the Jimmy Carter years.

I’m voting Democrat because parents shouldn’t get to choose the school their kids go to. Parents should leave their children’s education to the teachers and stay out of it.

I’m voting Democrat because I think this is the perfect time to raise the Capital Gains tax and drive investment money out of the stock market.

I’m voting Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

I’m voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would, and I want to spread my wealth around to those who earn less—or nothing.

I’m voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I’m voting Democrat because, when we pull out of Iraq, I trust that the bad guys will stop what they’re doing because they now think we’re good people.

I’m voting Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.

I’m voting Democrat because I’m not concerned about restoring partial birth abortions so long as we keep all death row murderers alive.

I’m voting Democrat because I believe that small businesses should not be allowed to make a profit. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution to people who didn’t start businesses.

I’m voting Democrat because I believe the law is what judges say it is, and not what legislators say — or the constitution.

I’m voting Democrat because the media would call me a racist if I didn’t.

I’ve voting Democrat so that we won’t have to waste tax revenue to maintain our Armed Forces. With the UN providing us with national security and world peace, the money can go to support world hunger and to bribe UN officials to like us.

One Day Till Election Day!

‘Twas the night before elections and all through the town, tempers were flaring,
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe with a cat in my lap, had cut off the TV,
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden there arose such a noise.
I peered out of my window and saw Obama and his bag of socialist toys.

They had come for my wallet. They wanted my pay.
To give to the others, who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money and quick as a wink, jumped back on his bandwagon,
As I gagged from the stink.

He then rallied his henchmen who were pulling his cart.
I could tell they were out to tear my country apart!

“On Fannie, on Freddie, On Biden and Ayers!, On Acorn, On Pelosi” He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause and as he flew out of sight. I heard him laugh at the nation, who wouldn’t stand up and fight!
So I leave you to think on this one final note:

IF YOU DON’T WANT SOCIALISM IN AMERICA–GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!
