Red Dead Redemption Avatar Awards
If I’ve being honest, my feelings are split regarding the Avatar Awards available in Red Dead Redemption. On the one hand in games Avatar Awards are a HUGE fan service that game makers don’t have to incorporate; so it’s hard to be picky about something that you have no technical right to in the first place. On the other hand, I was expecting with the sheer size and capacity of Red Dead Redemption and the expansion Undead Nightmare for more than 3 items. Again, beggars can’t be choosers, and I’m happy that Rockstar even put this much effort into them when they didn’t have to. Maybe next time we’ll see more? (Pretty please Rockstar?)
What I really enjoyed about two of these awards is that they had to be found to be unlocked. That is, as opposed to completing some in-game challenge to gain access to the goodies as most games award them, all you had to do was find them. Given the amount of ground needed to cover Red Dead Redemption, to 100% completion, this is no minor task. It was a nice change of pace.
| To unlock the Red Dead Redemption Red Logo T-Shirt, you first need to find it by opening the chest inside the burnt down cabin at Riley’s Charge. | |
| To unlock the Rockstar Logo T-Shirt, first you have to find it by opening the chest upstairs in the Beecher’s Hope property, where the “family” missions take place. | |
| To unlock the Sombrero, you’ll need to be a crack-shot. Shoot the hat off of any character, without killing them. |
