Slowly but surely, the geeks are inheriting the earth. Programming skills, downloading skills, and troubleshooting skills, once appreciated only from the confidently of lonely nerd’s bedrooms, are etching their way to the main stream. Although it has yet to happen, I predict eventually rappers will be writing songs about has fast their CPU is, country singers will whine about how their hard drive died before there redundant backup was complete, and the soulful will croon over favorite technology pieces cast by the wayside. What are you supposed to do when your lab project begins heading south? Well, obviously, you need to make a parody of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance. Extra points to the lead performer and her lab supplies inspired clothing.
9: Geek & Gamer Girls
Another parody, this one with special guest. Seth Green, Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff and Stan Lee all make appearances — but let’s be honest, it’s enough to see these girls dressed up like our favorite geek and game heroes.
8: It’s All About The Pentiums – “Weird Al” Yankovic
An oldie, but a goodie.
7: Hail to the Geek – Deaf Pedestrians
The only real hard rock entry to the list, and the only one without an official music video. Still, a great song to add to the collection. I’m thankful to hockeygal74 for putter together this fan video.

As part of his “Thing a Week” project, Jonathan Coulton created this catchy tune which encapsulates what it’s like to write computer software for living.
5: Do You Want To Date My Avatar – Felicia Day
Felicia Day, the front woman for The Guild, created this fun little tune. World of Warcraft fans will especially appreciate the content.
4: Still Alive
Anyone whose made it through the Portal game was treated to this little ditty. It makes the list because once you hear it, it gets stuck in your head for weeks at a time.
