Red Dead Redemption picked up just about every Game of the Year award it was in the running for, and after spending some time playing through the single player game, and some time spent online in various posses, it’s easy to understand why the game is deserving of it’s accolades.
What separates Read Dead Redemption from other, similar, sandbox adventure games is the successful creation of a world that doesn’t just feel alive, but lived in. With random encounters, fully developed characters, a well thought out story, and clever enough gimmicks to make what could have been mundane tasks, such as simple hunting, seem fun there literally is no shortage of things to do.
Occasionally during multiple multiplayer sessions I encountered a massive latency issue, which eventually led to the game locking my Xbox. Though they were few and far between, it happened enough to be a buzz kill.
This shouldn’t discourage you from the game though; it’s a masterpiece which should be played by all gamers.
