Lame Dusk sessions of Congress really let you see what your elected officials think of you. Facing an onslaught of resistance from an ever conservative leaning population, the current Democrat members of the House and Senate are now planning to rush through as many as 20 bills before having to give back their seats to their constituents. Democrats are considering cramming as many as 20 pieces of legislation into the lame-duck session they plan to hold after the Nov. 2 election.
The array of bills competing for floor time shows the sense of urgency among Democratic lawmakers to act before the start of the 112th Congress, when Republicans are expected to control more seats in the Senate and House.
If this gets broken down logically, it really shows the contempt that the ruling class has for the rest of us. When the majority of the population doesn’t like the direction the country is headed, and we’ve been paying attention to who has been green lighting the destructive policies, it’s no wonder the overwhelming majority feels it’s time for a change in management. Seeing the writing on the wall, what should the current representative response be? If these officials care about the people who sent them to Washington, like they claim too, they would listen to us and start rallying against the Obama administration and it’s destructive policies. Instead what we see is the exact opposite. In a temper tantrum that would rival that of my two year old, they are simply going to attempt to cram as much of this garbage down our throats before we finally throw them out.
This is completely disrespectful, and completely wrong; and it’s something that everyone should remember every single time a politician opens his mouth and claims to be “for the people”. I’ll start believing that when I see it.
