I just want to draw some attention to some blatant hypocrisy within the current Democrat Party. I’ll keep my comments brief. According to TheHill.com, many Democrats are urging President Obama to reinstate the Bush Tax cuts. The tax cuts, which are set to expire next year unless action is taken, have been demonized by the Democrat party for the past 7 years or so. Claims as outrageous as “it wasn’t paid for” and “it only benefits the rich” are still freshly ringing in my ears. But now it seems that the so-called ‘experts’ really got it wrong, and Democrat politicians (facing a potential political blood bath this November) are just starting to see the light. From the source:
Democrats are considering a plan to delay tax hikes on the wealthy for two years because the economic recovery is slow and they fear getting crushed in November’s election.
It could mean a big reprieve for families earning $250,000 and above annually.
President George W. Bush’s tax cuts will expire at the end of the year unless Congress acts to delay their sunset.
Some Democrats are now arguing forcefully that a delay is a win-win plan that would help the federal budget without hurting the economy.
Wealthy families would not have an incentive to cut back on spending and budget writers could assume an inflow of tax funds in future years, making five- and 10-year budget projections look less scary.
Two observations from my awesomely logical mind:
1. If delaying these tax cuts is a “win-win” that would help the deficit and not hurt the economy, why on Earth wouldn’t you cut these taxes all together?
2. Don’t you find it just a little bit suspicious that when President Bush “imposed” these tax cuts on the government the Democrat party cried fowl, yet when they are the party in power — all of a sudden — these might be the only things staving off another economic disaster?
I don’t know if President Obama will allow Bush’s tax cuts to be renewed. This would mean admitting that George W. did something right, and he pretty much ran his whole campaign on the slogan Bush was wrong… about everything. It would take a big man to admit he was wrong, and my President is not a big man.

They were younger then, given to the whims of their youth. They’re older now and are all the wiser.
