I never thought that this would happen to me. All my life, I believed that once I made up my mind about a woman I wanted to love, that I had the courage to stand behind my convictions… but now I’m not so sure anymore.
Commander Paul Shepherd (my digitized representation of myself in the game Mass Effect 2) has a tough decision to make. Since rescuing her from the Blue Sun’s prison ship Purgatory, he’s had an instant connection Jack. It started out subtle at first, but with each mission undertaken, it’s been growing little bit by little bit. It probably has to to with the fact that the two are complete opposites. He’s rational, calm, keeps his cool under pressure and clean cut. She’s impulsive, angry, prone to random outbursts, and covered in tattoos. I thought it was a match made in heaven. Until last night.
Yeoman Kelly Chambers, the Commander’s personal assistant, began flirting heavily with him last night. One thing lead to another, and he ended up having dinner with her in his private Captain’s quarters while Jack worked in engineering below the star ship. Though the dinner was completely innocent, he felt guilty the whole time — and he really enjoyed himself. After dinner Kelly made it very clear that she was open to more than friendship.
I’m not sure what Commander Shepherd should do. One the one hand, Jack is everything he isn’t. She’s a shot of disorder and chaos that he needs to break up his all too routine life. She’s passionate about everything, though sometimes misdirected, and she’s really interesting.
On the other hand, Kelly is closer inline with the day to day of Shepherd’s lifestyle. She would be his perfect compliment for precarious situations. And she has hair.
I think this really boils down to your classic case of the bad girl vs. the good girl.

Way to totally fail at the obvious choice #3: Miranda Lawson. They’re the lead protagonists of the game and are the obvious perfect tandem at stopping the Reapers. Only a fool would think otherwise! A FOOL I SAY!

I don’t know where I went wrong with Miranda. About a third of the way into the game, she just stopped talking to me, and she won’t tell me why. I guess digital women are just the same as the real ones in that respect.

Jack… For no other reason than once the Commander and Jack are married, she would be Jack Shepard. Perfect.

Dan, this might be the best comment I’ve ever gotten. BEST IDEA EVER!
