Muppet Vision 3D Attraction Audio [Dissecting Disney]

Since it’s opening on May 16 1991, the first anniversary of Muppet’s creator Jim Henson’s death, the attraction has been a staple of not just , but of the resort. Part of what makes this attraction such an integral part the Disney’s Studios is its quirky, outlandish, and completely appropriate theming. A huge part of that theming is the background played thought the Muppet Vision 3D attraction area.

The background music (BGM) played throughout the Muppet area was specially recorded for exclusive use in the park and consists of instrumental arrangements of popular Muppet songs from the Muppet movies. As far as I’m aware, these tracks aren’t available commercially, though you can find original versions of The Rainbow Connection, Moving Right Along, I Hope That Something Better Comes Along, and Happiness Hotel on the album Muppets: Music Mayhem and More

A somewhat sobering fun fact: Sadly, Muppet Vision 3D turned out to be the last project that Henson directed before he died. At the time of his death, he was attempting to sell the to the Disney Co. in an attempt to free more of his time, by letting an experienced, parent company worry about the day to day specifics of running a studio, for further productions.
