Goodbye Xenon

Media, Thoughts

My , — named after the motherboard chip-set she contained — died this past week. I feel like I’m saying goodbye to an old friend as our adventures together have been numerous and enjoyable.

We traversed the region of Cyrodiil to stop a mysterious cult, known as the Mythic Dawn, from opening up portals from the realm of oblivion thereby removing it’s creatures, known as the Daedra, access to the mortal realm; we twice ventured into the under water city of Rapture in attempts to unlock her secrets; spent a short time among the survivor’s of Oceantic Flight 815 in an attempt to uncover some of the mysteries of the Dharma initiate; spent a great deal of time in ancient Jerusalem, shall we say, ‘removing’ corrupt officials from power; traversed the 9 circles of hell, as described by Dante Allegri; fought off personal demons and infiltrated the order of the Oro; commanded various Federation star ships in an armada against the Borg; were chosen by the viking gods to act as their right hand in unifying the scattered sects against a greater foe; uncovered an ancient burial ground underneath Central Park in New York City; I could go on and on…

These adventures will not soon be forgotten. Goodbye Xenon. You will be missed; but I’m already having fun with your younger, sexier, sister .

Note To The Reader: If you’ve made it this far into the post, please be aware of the touch-in-cheek sarcasm in which it was written. I am not honestly mourning the loss of an inanimate object… no matter how beautiful she was. If you think this is too much know that my original post idea was to rewrite the words to Candle in the Wind.

I would have LOVED to have traded up, but the budget always wins. I just picked up an arcade unit and swapped the hard drive. At least a got two new games out of the deal.
