Thought About Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga

Legos are fun. is awesome. Mashing the two together should make a really fun game right? Well, it does! If you’ve played any of the themed games, you know what your in-store for as the game mechanics haven’t changed.

I really enjoyed Lego Star Wars. It follows the same stories of the Star Wars movies, all six of them, and mixes in some zany humor, clever puzzles and simple yet challenging game play. The game does most everything right, so rather than point that out I’m going to focus on the two areas where I feel it went wrong.

My biggest issue with the game would have to be the pacing of achievements. To attempt to get 100% of the game (something I enjoy doing) would require each level to be played through a minimum of four times. Though the levels are clever, they didn’t hold my interest for that long. This is especially true of the original levels which I’ve already played through in Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy.

On that note, and though I understand it would have been hard to do, I would have like to have seen different levels, or maybe even slightly modified level, of the original trilogy. They are an exact ports from the first game right down to minikit locations. If you played the first game to death, like I did, these final levels actually came across as boring — been there, done that.Perhaps if I didn’t play the original trilogy first I would have enjoyed this more.

Still, I’m going to give the game a respectable 7/10.
