Just a Thought About Obtaining Power, Keeping Power, and a Trip to the Museum

Thoughts, Up To The Minute

Strolling through the museum the other day I came across a WWII exhibit. As I read through the displayed information, I couldn’t help but notice two quotes places squarely on top of a couple plaques. One was a quote from American journalist William L. Shirer in regards to how a man such as could have been granted such by a nation:

“They looked up to him as if he were a Messiah.”

The other a quote from Adolf himself, also attributing to his own rise of control:

“We have to put a stop to the idea that it is part of everybody’s civil right to say whatever he pleases.”

The two quotes seemed to echo a two step plan to obtain and keep power. The first step being to sell yourself as a would-be savior of a weary nation to have the people place you in power. The second being establishing control over the people to retain that power. I couldn’t help but think, “Man this sounds familiar.”

There is a messianic undertow that seems to be running through the supports of President . Its not as prevalent now, but it was certainly rampant during his election. We The People, war-weary and tired (for various reasons) of the previous administration raised a presidential candidate on a pedestal he never should have been on. His ideas of “Hope and Change” became intriguing and full of charm, and people started to look up to him as a Messiah. We elected this man into power.

Now that he is in power, it does seem as his administration, and the Democrat party as whole, is doing everything they can to keep that power. From back-room deals and closed door negotiation, to take over or private companies and banks, the United States has become more meddlesome in the private affairs of it’s citizens in this past year than it ever has before. Step two seemed to be working initially.

But as the excitement faded and light was cast on the plans to control the population, it became clear that they never planned to face down the indomitable spirit of the American people. We do not roll over and let somebody else tell us how to live our lives. We never have, and it’s obvious we’re not about to start now. If the polls are any indication of the current political mood of the people, these politicians better enjoy their power while they have it… their days in power numbered.

Just a thought.

We have to put a stop to the idea that it is part of everybody's civil right to say whatever he pleases

We have to put a stop to the idea that it is part of everybody's civil right to say whatever he pleases

They looked up to him as if he were a Messiah.

They looked up to him as if he were a Messiah.
