A half hour before the night show at EPCOT, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, begins; the torches placed around World Showcase Lagoon light up and a selection of carefully chosen ‘world’ themed music begins to play. In my opinion this collection of music is a Disney Treasure. The sound and vibe of each song captures the essence of what Illuminations communicate and builds anticipation for show.
Unlike most of the other music you’ll hear around the parks, Disney did not write nor compose these songs; rather these songs were purchased for use from their original artists. Therefore; you cannot find this music on any ‘Disney Park Music’ CD collection. You’ll have to purchase them separately.
The songs, in the order they play are:
Janlan Kopo : Performed by Sabah Habas Mustapha off of the album Jalan Kopo.
Falling Through A Cloud : Performed by Uttara-Kuru off of the album East Wind.
Busindre Reel : Performed by Hevia off of the album Tierra de Nadie/No Man’s Land.
Gaviotis : Performed by Hevia off of the album Tierra de Nadie/No Man’s Land.
Tula : Performed by Cusco off of the album Apurimac II: Return to Ancient America.
Our Life : Performed by Uttara-Kuru off of the album East Wind
Tracking the music down I was able to purchase all but one of the songs from iTunes. Tula, by Cusco was not available, but you can purchase the album Apurimac II: Return to Ancient America from Amazon.com. I’ve collected them all and have set up samples here:
