An idea is powerful thing. It is also a very fragile thing. I would even suggest that the weight of the idea is inversely proportional to it’s fragility. It’s not uncommon at all for ideas to killed. Some of the usual suspects for an idea’s demise used to be a “rule by comity” situation (too many cooks really do spoil the soup) or a situation where there is only consistent negative feed back (‘you can’t do that because’, ‘you’ll never get the resources’, etc) but there certainly are more situations that are guilty of idea killing.
I found this image that very cleverly illustrates the “Death of an Idea” concept. I don’t know who the original artist is, or even what the original source of the image is, so if anybody can shed some light on this for me please let me know and I’ll give credit where credit is due.
