Bolt uses his laser eyes to throw down.
Bolt is cute, simple fun that I’ve come to expect from Disney Interactive games. While the game itself doesn’t break any new ground, it follows the rules of a fun platforming game to the T. Start the level. Get from point A to point B utilizing recharging and upgradeable special abilities, being sure to grab all the available collectibles you can find in the level, while avoiding pitfalls and waves of generic enemies.
The most fun aspect of the game wasn’t even playing as Bolt, but rather Penny. She comes equipped with special spy gear that let’s her sneak pass enemies undetected, use knock-out gas to render them unconscious, or whacking them around with her spy stick that looks like a yo-yo glued to a pool cue.
If you check your hard-core gamer brain at the door and don’t expect too much in the way of plot of character development, you’ll enjoy Bolt. Final thought: 6/10.
