The Ents Have Gone To War

James Reynolds wrote an interesting comparison between the from the and conservative Americans over at the American Thinker.com. With all due credit to the source, I’m posting it here. (Emphasis Mine)

In the Tolkien mythologies, the Ents are a race of human-like trees living deep in a primordial forest. Ancient, towering creatures, Ents move slowly and deliberately, requiring decades of contemplation before coming to a decision on matters great and small. In the Middle Earth Trilogy, Ents are warned time and again of the danger they face at the hand of man, but it is not until they go to the edge of their forest and witness the destruction of their homeland that Ents rise up and defeat their foes.

For almost a decade Middle America has lived as Ents. Buffeted by the attacks of September 11, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the housing crash of 2008, many of my countrymen had, by last autumn, turned inward, losing focus on the cost of freedom. Overwhelmed by the rapid pace of political and social change beyond their shores, a large group of Americans — like the Ents — just wanted to be left alone. But change was in the air, and on November 5, 2009 Barack was elected President of the United States on a nebulous promise of “hope and change.”

Fast forward to Monday, September 21, 2009: Nancy Pelosi is blubbering about “assassins,” Jimmy Carter is whining about “color,” John Stewart is screaming at the reporters of America as to why two kids scooped them on the ACORN story. And then along comes Bertha Lewis.

The actions of Barack Obama and his minions over the past eight months have awoken the Ents from slumber. Ask any American small business owner, all with legal and moral responsibilities to work within their company’s budget. Ask any twenty-year old about their soon-to-be-mandatory health care plan. Ask any senior citizen who now wonders if they will be sharing their health care with 12 million illegal aliens who, according to our president in a speech before the National Hispanic Caucus on September 17, 2009, stated that “this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all.”

I guess the President didn’t lie in his joint session speech; he just didn’t tell the truth.

In America, working people hold the political class in contempt for good reason. But we ignore them at our peril. After years of feeling helpless, Middle America is paying attention to the people in Washington, and we do not like what we see. For that I thank you, Mr. President. Because of you, the Ents have gone to war.

I don’t think that everything that is going wrong can be laid at the feet of President Obama, but he certainly seems to be taking things farther left than we’ve every gone before. What is going on now is the logical outworking of an over bloated government that has lost touch with it’s people. We The People need to take notice and make changes before we don’t even recognize America anymore.

  1. Brittancus Says:

Any company that has hired more than 3-5 illegal aliens–MUST –be entirely aware that they are hiring foreign nationals? That’s why we need a comprehensive E-Verify application in operation, as permanent immigration identity software countrywide? Nor should it be on a voluntary basis for everybody. Long timers and new hires must be verified? Sen. Grassley must have heard from his constituencies, because a letter The Honorable Thad Cochran Chairman Ranking Member Committee on Appropriations Committee on Appropriation requesting their support for my amendment (S.A.1415). The amendment gives businesses a tool to ensure that they have a legal workforce by allowing them to check the status of all workers, NOT JUST NEW HIRES? The amendment allows for voluntary checks of existing employees through E-Verify in the working locations.

But this amendment doesn’t go far enough? It should stipulate that anybody who doesn’t comply or ignores the usage of E-Verify should be held in violation of our laws. The fines should be severe, but in cases of second violations, should forfeit business assets and receive a prison sentences. These obnoxious businesses know exactly what they are doing and know the risks? E-Verify could be easily expanded for many other uses in the US, including admittance to health care, driver’s licenses, government subsidies that would include education and home mortgages? CALL YOUR DISINCLINED SENATOR OR REPRESENTATIVE AT 202-224-3121 SO THEY KNOW, HOW ANGRY WE ARE WITH THE IMMIGRATION INVASION TRAVESTY. Much more to learn at NUMBERSUSA, JUDICIAL WATCH & CAPSWEB.

All American workers and legal population should be very attuned in the coming months, as the Democratic leaders have tutored President Obama in forcing into Congress another AMNESTY bill. It is an objectionable legislation to enact in legalizing the 20 to 30 (?) million illegal people who have settled around our nation? Millions more will follow over borders, by plane and any entrance ports. They are already alert that free health care lies just across the international borders, for themselves, immediate family, young and old. This is the majority parties’ method to sneak health care for illegal families by legalization; America doesn’t even offer free treatment to its own people, who are hounded into bankruptcy for unpaid hospital bills. Americans absolutely cannot afford another path to citizenship, as it will have a major financial impact on our crumbling infrastructure, irreversible road to OVERPOPULATION and higher taxes. I am very agreeable with President Obama, for a European style health care package, but those illegal immigrants who have not been caught, will have to rely on a humane admittance to emergency hospitals.
