These are here for my own personal archival and reference. Move along people, nothing too see here…
The difference between worry and concern: Concern produced action. Worry produces in-action and consistently asks, “What if…?”
Five Reasons Not To Worry
1. Worry accomplishes nothing.
2. Worry reveals a lack of faith. It clutters tomorrow opportunities with yesterday’s trails.
3. Worry hurts relationships. It produces something being called “Stress Contamination”. It is no longer the big things that are doing us it, it a cultivation of all the little things we worry about.
4. Worry damages your health.
5. Worry discredits your witness. If you are constantly panic-ed and worried are people going to want “your god”?
Could there be a connection between worry and hurry? We settle for a mediocre faith if we hurry.
Winning The War With Worry
It has everything to do with priorities and focus.
1. Focus on the eternal and not the temporary. Worship, prayer, scripture study will all carry over into eternity. These spiritual disciplines are at the heart of any health Christian’s relationship.
2. Live one day at a time. If you figure out an easy way of doing this, tell me how.
3. Trust in God’s sovereignty. The truth that God is in control. As a Christian, nothing happens to you in your life that God does not put through his sovereign filter.
