This post is just a little fun with my search engine statistics. 42 people this week found their way to my PaulHobson.com looking for the lyrics to the song “What Else Is There?” by the band Royksopp. The lyrics aren’t here but it’s easy for me to understand how people wind up here in search for them. When I used to feature new music on my site this was one of the last MP3s I had uploaded. Also I use a line from the song as one of my site’s tag lines. “I don’t know what else to ask for, I was given just one wish.”
Anyway, in an effort to not disappoint the searchers and seekers of the interwebs, I’m posting the lyrics to Royksopp’s “What Else Is There?” here. You should also head over to YouTube and check out the music video. (I would have posted it here, but embedding has been disable by request.) That thing is packed full of symbolism. If you understand it, let me know what it means. Especially the floating house.
It was me on that road
But you couldn’t see me
Too many lights out, but nowhere near hereIt was me on that road
Still you couldn’t see me
And then flashlights and explosionsRoads end getting nearer
We cover distance but not togetherI am the storm I am the wonder
And the flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosionsI don’t know what more to ask for
I was given just one wishIt’s about you and the sun
A morning run
The story of my maker
What I have and what I ache forI’ve got a golden ear
I cut and I spear
And what else is thereRoads and getting nearer
We cover distance still not togetherIf I am the storm if I am the wonder
Will I have a flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosionsThere’s no room where I can go and
You’ve got secrets tooI don’t know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish
